I am a Consultant General and Hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgeon and Visiting Professor at Ulster University. I trained in Belfast and the Regional HPB and Transplant Unit in Edinburgh. I have extensive experience in complex liver, pancreas and biliary surgery with a consultant practice since 2006. I am the past president of GBIHPBA (Great Britain and Ireland HPB Association) and the past president of The Pancreatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland. From 2014 to 2019 I served as the Lead for Education, Training and Research with The Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons of GB and I (AUGIS).
I have expertise in complex disorders of the biliary system as well as surgery for gallstone disease. My tertiary practice for nearly twenty years included liver, pancreas and gallbladder cancers as well as complex benign biliary and pancreatic surgery. I have also an interest in abdominal wall hernias (including inguinal, paraumbilical, ventral and femoral). I provide an endoscopic service for upper Gastrointestinal disorders including dyspepsia.
