To provide effective treatment our physiotherapist team will conduct a detailed assessment to identify relevant previous injuries, general health and training patterns as well as a physical examination of joint movement, muscle strength and overall function. You and your physiotherapist will discuss goals and formulate a personalised treatment and rehabilitation programme tailored to you and what you want to achieve.
Our MSK team treats running injuries including achilles tendonopathy, ankle sprains, runner's knee and bony stress injuries. The pelvic health team uses clinical technology and tailored interventions to address bladder and bowel concerns affecting your running. Our vestibular team targets the root cause of dizziness, vertigo, concussion and balance disorders. Throughout your treatment, we work collaboratively with you to ensure you're receiving the right care at the right time.
Rehabilitation is essentially training in the presence of injury and at the Ulster Independent Clinic we aim to not just get you back to where you were … it’s about moving better than ever. From guided strength training and functional lifting to dynamic running drills designed to restore confidence, power, and control —all delivered with a focus on safe technique and gradual progression.Every session is tailored to you and your goals.

We don't just treat your injury - we help you understand how to prevent it from coming back. You'll leave with practical strategies for safe training progression, load management and ongoing strength work to keep you running strong.
Sometimes, getting the full picture means looking beneath the surface. Our team works alongside consultant orthopaedic surgeons and radiologists with on-site access to MRI, CT, Ultrasound and X-Ray imaging.
For runners, this means faster, more accurate diagnosis of injuries like stress fractures, tendon damage and biomechanical issues. Your physiotherapist, consultant and radiologist review results together, ensuring your treatment plan is based on complete information.

The MSK team assess, diagnose and treat all forms of running injury.
We understand that running injuries rarely happen in isolation. Our physiotherapists take time to understand your training history, running biomechanics and movement patterns to identify the root cause of your injury - not just the symptoms.
Assessment includes detailed analysis of your running gait, strength testing and joint mobility, as well as understanding your training load and goals. From there, we develop a personalised treatment plan combining hands-on therapy, targeted exercise prescription and progressive loading strategies to rebuild tissue capacity.
