Dr Claire Murray is a Consultant in General and Community Paediatrics. Dr Murray graduated from Queen's University Belfast in 2005, achieved membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2010, and has been a Consultant Paediatrician since 2016. Dr Murray currently works as a Consultant Paediatrician in the Belfast trust in a role that comprises Acute Paediatrics in the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, and Community Paediatrics in the Belfast area.
Dr Murray has experience managing a wide range of paediatric conditions including children with neurodivergence and developmental differences, and children with complex health needs and disabilities. Dr Murray has a large caseload of patients with ADHD and extensive experience assessing and managing children and young people with ADHD.
Dr Murray was the Specialty Improvement lead (clinical lead) for Community Paediatrics from 2020-2024. She is a clinical supervisor of resident doctors and a consultant appraiser.
At the Ulster Independent Clinic Dr Murray provides thorough, NICE guideline compliant, assessment of children and young people aged 6-16y who may have ADHD. This includes the use of validated tools; Conner's questionnaires and QB check. Dr Murray is trained in the interpretation of QB test and attends annual QB revalidation training. Dr Murray provides holistic, child-focused assessment, considering differential diagnoses and co-occuring conditions and offers management plans in collaboration with the young person and their family.
