Mr Richard Napier is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in knee surgery for both adults and children. He has expertise in managing knee injuries and degenerative knee conditions. His specialist interests include:
After completing his specialist surgical training in Northern Ireland, he pursued advanced fellowship training in arthroplasty, knee surgery, and sports medicine at internationally renowned orthopaedic research centres in Exeter (UK) and Melbourne (Australia).
Beyond his clinical practice, Mr. Napier is committed to education and research. He is a member of the Regional Orthopaedic Training Committee and holds a Master’s degree in Medical Education.
He serves as a Trustee for the Trauma and Orthopaedic Research Charity (TORC), supporting advancements in orthopaedic care across Northern Ireland. Additionally, he is an active member of the TORC Patient Liaison Group and the Clinical Research Group. Since 2020, he has been a lead for the Clinical Research Network, driving impactful clinical research in orthopaedics.
Mr. Napier has been a Consultant with the NHS since 2018 and is based at Musgrave Park Hospital, the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, and the Royal Victoria Hospital.
